The first time we were treated to a Stadium Stampede match it was in response to the fact that fans were no longer allowed at shows due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was a unique take on an empty arena match, a wacky war that saw The Elite defeat The Inner Circle.
Part two comes one year later, with fans back at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, for Double or Nothing 2021 with The Inner Circle once again taking center stage. Only this time, they were up against The Pinnacle, MJF’s group of misfits looking to disband Chris Jericho’s crew once and for all.
Those were the stakes. A loss by The Inner Circle, not even a full month after The Pinnacle beat them in a Blood and Guts match, would mean the end of the faction.
The match was exactly what you would expect it to be. The long open saw MJF and Jericho battling all throughout the building, including right into the offices of Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Urban Meyer, who responded to the action like a true pro wrestling fan.
The next individual battle featured Jake Hager and Wardlow getting icy and trying to shank each other. That was followed by Sammy Guevara and Shawn Spears duking it out with chairs before the latter used the former as a lawn dart. Guevara responded by choking him out with an extension cord. Spears recovered and handcuffed him before bailing.
Next, we had Santana & Ortiz hitting the club to do battle with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Konnan made a cameo appearance as the DJ spinning a track to get the brawl popping off. He also made sure Tully Blanchard couldn’t get involved.
They cut back to Jericho and MJF and they finally had fought all the way from the stadium to the football offices and back into Daily’s Place, fighting right next to the fans in the stands. Then Guevara and Spears showed up. By “showed up,” I mean Guevara ran Spears over with a golf cart right outside the ring. They went inside the ring to take it the rest of the way home, with Guevara putting “The Chairman” through a chair to score the pinfall victory.
Retribution for The Inner Circle, who all came together in the ring after to celebrate their victory, which ensures they get to remain together as a team while the crowd sang “Judas” all around them.
