AEW Double or Nothing 2021 results: Lio Rush surprises, but Jungle Boy wins Battle Royal

AEW’s Twitter

There was a World title shot on the line in Double or Nothing’s Casino Battle Royale, and the intrigue about who the mysterious “Joker” entrant would be. But on the way to answers to both of those things on May 30 in Jacksonville, we got a showcase for AEW’s stables, and a continuation of several feuds.

It came down to one of those factions, the Hardy Family Office, Christian Cage, Jungle Boy, and the final entrant, ex-WWE Cruiserweight champion & current MLW and NJPW star Lio Rush.

Despite a flashy entrance, Rush didn’t last long, though. He was taken out by Hardy’s charges Private Party, who were then taken out by Jungle Boy & Cage. Big Money Matt pitched a team up with his old ladder match foe Christian, which Cage feigned accepting before throwing Hardy out.

We then got a single match between the veteran, who was part of the first five entrants, and the youngster, who entered much later. Youth and rest won out. Jungle Boy fought off a Kill Switch on the apron, swung himself around the ring post to avoid elimination, then dumped Cage.

Jungle Boy will eventually face the winner of tonight’s main event.
