Earlier this week, Hikaru Shida’s reign as AEW Women’s champion passed the one year mark. The Japanese star defeated Nyla Rose to win the belt at Double or Nothing last May.
Heading into Shida’s next defense on Sunday (May 30) at this year’s Double or Nothing, the company presented her with a re-designed title belt. The design is similar, but the it’s now been upsized, gold-plated and diamond-encrusted.

We’ll see how long she gets to enjoy the new version of the strap. Shida’s had her next challenger’s number in the past, but Dr. Britt Baker, DMD comes into this challenge brimming with confidence. She compared herself to a certain Texas Rattlesnake when she came up to hype their PPV clash on the go home edition of Dynamite.
