In February, there were reportedly plans for AEW wrestler Sammy Guevara to walk though the Forbidden Door and compete in Impact Wrestling. His work there was set to coincide with his decision to quit the Inner Circle on Dynamite, just before their Revolution pay-per-view.
But it didn’t happen. Details emerged about what went wrong, and it involved Sammy not going along with the creative plans that were originally agreed upon by both AEW and Impact. Guevara later made some references on his vlog to all of this heat that he had, and how people are idiots if they believe everything they read online.
In an interview on The Wrestling Inc Daily podcast, Guevara was asked to comment on his heat with Impact Wrestling. Here is what he said:
“You know there was a lot of stuff that was said. It’s just business at the end of the day. I know I didn’t really say nothing out there, and all this stuff that came out, it’s only coming from one side. And some stuff wasn’t true. I don’t really want to comment too much on it, you know? It is what it is, it was what it was. I still wish everybody the best. We’re all just trying to succeed at the end of the day.”
Sammy seems to be saying that what we heard in February was only Impact’s version of the story, and he prefers choosing the high road and not getting into it.
It’s probably the best for AEW’s relationship with Impact Wrestling that Guevara didn’t rehash whatever it was that went wrong three months ago, but there’s no doubt that his answer will leave fans still wanting more.
