Miro beats Darby Allin to become the new TNT champion

AEW on Twitter

Darby Allin won the TNT title back in Nov. 2020 at Full Gear, and he’s been a resilient fighting champion in recent weeks. During that time he’s put down opponents such as Jungle Boy, Matt Hardy, and the Dark Order. But on tonight’s (May 12) episode of Dynamite, he faced his most formidable challenger yet, Miro.

Allin was already walking into this match banged up thanks to the spill he took last week down a set of cardboard concrete steps at the hands of Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. Everything was lined up for Miro to take advantage and win the TNT championship tonight.

Miro amplified his advantage even further by unleashing a brutal beating on Allin before the bell even rang to officially start the match.

During the commercial break, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky put Darby in a bigger hole by attacking Darby’s protector, Sting.

Darby tried to pull out a miracle here, but nothing was going to stop Miro. He crushed Darby in the final moments of the fight with an inescapable body-scissors Game Over. I think Miro’s shoulders may have been down on that mat during this hold? The referee called for the bell, and Miro was declared the new TNT champion.

Chaos ensued afterwards, culminating with Lance Archer coming out to confront Miro. I think I know what the TNT championship match will be at Double or Nothing.
