Forget Moxley, Kenny Omega has a new contender to worry about

AEW on Twitter

Kenny Omega defeated Jon Moxley for the AEW world championship in December, and then successfully defended the title against Mox in a rematch with a dud ending last month at Revolution.

So who will be the next man to step up to the champ? Christian has teased being that person, but admitted he needs a few more wins under his belt first. PAC also has issues with Omega going back quite a while. Moxley has never left Omega alone, so perhaps he’ll get one more shot at the world title.

Then there’s Hangman Page. He’s the number one ranked challenger, which is certainly a good argument for why he deserves a title shot. On tonight’s (Apr. 7) episode of Dynamite, Page opened the show with a singles match against the number three ranked Max Caster.

The AEW commentators teased that the number one ranking was on the line in this match, so Page had to come through with a win in order to cement his spot on top of the rankings.

Considering the disparity in how much television time each man gets, this seemed like a gimme for the cowboy. But Caster and his partner Anthony Bowens pulled off some good heel chicanery, using a boombox and a chain to distract the referee and almost steal a pin on Page. But Page was resilient and managed to survive those tactics, before putting his opponent away with the Buckshot Lariat.

Page celebrated his victory with a beer.

Do you think Hangman Page should be next in line for a world championship match against Kenny Omega?
