In a “Special Announcement” video posted to their YouTube, Tony Schiavone unveiled the entire card for AEW’s first ever non-televised show, Fri., April 9’s “The House Always Wins”.
There’s one change to what was announced prior to tickets going on sale, as Cody will now face Aaron Solow in a Duuuval Street Fight instead of Ethan Page in a regular match. This stems from the Nightmare Family angle from the Mar. 31 Dynamite, and from the Khan family getting some of that sweet AEW/Jacksonville Jaguars synergy going (Duval is the Florida county Jacksonville’s located in, and is the battle cry for fans of the NFL team).
Another newsworthy item from the line-up is the return of Eddie Kingston. The Mad King was written off by a Kenny Omega & Good Brother’s attack after Revolution, but he’ll be back - broken bones and all - for a match on Friday.
Here’s what the fans who buy a ticket and head to Daily’s Place will see:
- Battle Royal for TNT title shot, fetauring Powerhouse Hobbs, Lance Archer, Ricky Starks, Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, The Butcher, The Blade, Dustin Rhodes, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Dark Order’s 10 and Colt Cabana
- TNT Champion Darby Allin vs. Battle Royal winner
- The Young Bucks & Brandon Cutler vs. Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix)
- AEW World Champion Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa vs. The Sydal Brothers
- Cody Rhodes vs. Aaron Solow in a Duuuval Street Fight
- Hikaru Shida, Tay Conti & Red Velvet vs. Nyla Rose, Britt Baker & The Bunny
- Eddie Kingston vs. Cezar Bononi
- The Pinnacle vs. Jurassic Express & Dante Martin of Top Flight in an eight-man tag)
- Orange Cassidy and Jade Cargill in action
