Dynamite’s two women’s matches feature (at least) two future title contenders

Two women’s matches on Dynamite? It may not have been a first, but when Jade Cargill and Red Velvet came out for the second match of the night on April 14, it felt like a big step in the continually improving presentation of AEW’s women’s roster.

Cargill and Velvet certainly helped the cause. The smaller woman came out hot, lighting Jade up with punches.

This may have only been Cargill’s fourth pro wrestling match, but everyone’s excited about her prospects for a reason. She took Cody & Brandi Rhodes’ friend’s best shots, but her power was too much.

Jaded eventually ended it clean, and at 4 - 0 Cargill figures to be moving on up the rankings.

Somebody we’d love to see Jade (or Red) run into on the road to the top? Kris Statlander. After her surprise return from injury during Arcade Anarchy two weeks ago, the Galaxy’s Favorite Alien was back to boop Best Friends & Orange Cassidy, who escorted her to the ring, and referee Paul Turner. Then she made pretty quick work of Amber Nova.

Throw in hype for Dr. Britt Baker DMD and Thunder Rosa during the show, and a video package for next week’s Women’s title match between Hikaru Shida and #1 contender Tay Conti, and Wednesdays are still looking good for fans of women’s wrestling.

Like the direction things are pointing in for the women of AEW?
