The belt collector is coming for Impact gold. Kenny Omega will be getting a shot at the Impact World Championship at the Rebellion PPV on April 24. To make the stakes higher, it will be title versus title with both AEW and Impact world titles on the line.
First things first though. Omega’s opponent will be determined at Impact’s Sacrifice special event this Saturday (Mar. 13, 2021) on the Impact Plus app.
Impact currently has two world champions running around the Impact Zone. Rich Swann is the officially recognized Impact title holder. Moose dug up the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to crown himself top dog. That belt became officially sanctioned two weeks ago by EVP Scott D’Amore to prevent further chaos. Their bitter feud is scheduled to get settled at Sacrifice with the Impact and TNA titles being unified. Now, stakes are even higher with the winner earning a shot at Omega and the AEW World Championship.

Title versus title is an interesting twist. I had fully assumed Omega was going to win the Impact belt if he was ever booked to compete for it. With AEW gold on the line, I think it makes it even more likely that Omega will be crowned Impact king. No doubt the match will rock, even if the result seems obvious.
As for the preference of Omega’s opponent, it is a tough call. Swann has carried Impact as champion with fantastic main event bouts. He is currently more the heart and soul of the promotion than Moose. However, Moose was awesome in the trios main event against Omega and the Good Brothers back at Hard to Kill in January. Moose upped his game to the best I’ve ever seen him. That left me with a strong desire to see Moose challenge Omega. I think I’m pulling for Moose to unify the Impact titles at Sacrifice then tear the house down against Omega at Rebellion.
The current card for Sacrifice on March 13 now stands at:
- Impact World Championship: Rich Swann (c) vs Moose
- Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs ODB
- Impact World Tag Team Championship: Good Brothers (c) vs FinJuice
- X-Division Championship: TJP (c) vs Ace Austin
- Knockouts Tag Championship: Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz (c) vs Jordynne Grace & Jazz
During tonight’s Impact Wrestling broadcast, James Storm & Chris Sabin versus Joe Doering & Deaner, Reno Scum versus Crazzy Steve & Black Taurus, and Brian Myers versus Eddie Edwards in a hardcore contest are likely to fill out the Sacrifice card.
Are you excited to see Kenny Omega attempt to collect Impact’s top belt? Would you rather see Omega wrestle Swann or Omega wrestle Moose at the Rebellion PPV on April 24?
