Tony Khan announces AEW has signed a wrestler from Chicago (no, not that one)

The big reveal is still a couple days away, as is the lesser but supposedly still cool reveal of the sixth participant in Sunday’s Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. But this is still pretty cool, especially for a guy who’s been doing good work for AEW on Dark throughout the pandemic.

Shawn Dean’s been wrestling since 2017. As you can tell from the patch on his sleeve, he’s from Chicago, but most of his indie experience has been in Atlanta and the Southeast. Of late, he’s been teaming with Charlie Bravo on AEW’s YouTube show. He first caught my eye last May when he and Rey Fenix showed off in an empty Daily’s Place:

On his Facebook, he reacted to officially being All Elite:

Words can’t describe how much this means to me...I gave up sooooo much in pursuit of a dream to become a professional wrestler. I knew it would pay off. And with the support from my wife, kids, family, and friends I was able to stay the course and make MY dream a reality....This is only half the battle...time to continue the course and keep going for more. Thank you all for everything! @tonyrkhan and the entire @allelitewrestling thank you for accepting me into the family! #Salute #HitEmWithTheDeal #ImWithAEW

Salute, Captain.

Now, Tony, about these other signings...
