Come April 14, Dynamite will have Wednesday nights all to itself (on cable television, anyway). But before NXT moves to Tuesdays, we have one last battle in the 18 month mid-week war between WWE’s third brand and AEW’s flagship program. April 7’s shows are shaping up to make it a doozy.
On USA (and simulcast on WWE Network’s new streaming home, Peacock), NXT will be running the first night of a ridiculously stacked TakeOver: Stand & Deliver card. Tony Khan & team are countering with a pretty loaded show themselves.
Check it out:
- Jon Moxley will team with The Young Bucks to take on Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers. This Bullet Club civil war + Mox has been building for weeks. Tonight’s show continued that when Don Callis slapped Matt Jackson, then the Bucks backed Moxley when he stepped to the AEW World champ & his boys after they beat Lucha Bros & Laredo Kid. The heels ran off, of course.
- TNT champion Darby Allin issued an open challenge, and former Evolve champ JD Drake answered it.
- Inner Circle made their return tonight to return fire at The Pinnacle, and Chris Jericho’s squad will return for a promo on April 7 to address what MJF’s new faction has been up.
- Tay Conti faces The Bunny after a kendo stick shot helped the former pin the latter in this week’s tag match.
- Godzilla vs. Kong brings us Jurassic Express vs. Bear Country!
Sounds like a blaze of glory, don’t you think?
