AEW Rankings (Mar. 31, 2021): Hangman Page has Jungle Boy hot on his heels

All Elite Wrestling

AEW released their latest rankings (Mar. 31, 2021). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Men:

AEW

Hangman Page is the new #1. He moved up with a win over Cezar Bononi on Dynamite. The previous top dog was PAC, who dropped to #4 due to inactivity from injury. Jon Moxley moved up two spots accordingly with the aid of victory of Bill Collier. Moxley wrestles tonight on Dynamite against Bononi. If Mox becomes #1 next week, then that means the beautiful Brazilian is the gatekeeper to glory.

The real shocker is Jungle Boy’s rapid rose as a singles competitor. He went from unranked to #3. A win over Jack Evans on Dark: Elevation was the boost he needed. Beating Mexico’s favorito, el cholo güero de Tepito, the man, the myth, the legend, Jack Evans from the heavens is no small feat. The double shocker is that Jungle Boy is above Cody Rhodes. Cody is pretty fresh off a win over Pentagon. I guess there is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ theme this year, since Cody fell from #3 to #5. It feels jarring, but it is a pleasant change of pace from last year’s stagnation.

AEW tends to manipulate the rankings to set up big matches, so it may be possible that Jungle Boy gets a title shot very soon. Whether against Kenny Omega or Darby Allin, it should be a barn burner.

Women:

AEW

Nyla Rose dropped from #3 to #5 after defeat to the top-ranked Tay Conti on Dynamite. Ryo Mizunami and Dr. Britt Baker DMD moved up one spot as a result.

Tag Team:

AEW

Matt Hardy’s managerial services are paying off for Butcher & Blade. They crashed the rankings at #3 this week after smashing Milk Chocolate on Dark. Alex Reynolds & John Silver and FTR both moved down one spot. Fenix & PAC were bounced despite having a future title shot in their pocket.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
