Tonight’s (Mar. 3) episode of Dynamite featured the final match of the AEW women’s championship eliminator tournament. Nyla Rose won the United States side of the bracket by defeating Thunder Rosa. Ryo Mizunami won the Japanese side of the bracket by defeating Yuka Sakazaki. That led to tonight’s final match of the tournament between Rose and Mizunami.
It was a hell of a match with several false finishes, including Mizunami somehow kicking out of Rose’s flying knee drop. But Vickie Guerrero must be a bad luck charm as a manager, because her return to Dynamite saw her wrestler come up short. Mizunami was able to put the Native Beast away and qualify for the women’s championship match at Revolution, coming up on Sunday, Mar. 7.
After the match was over, Hikaru Shida entered the ring to congratulate Mizunami on her accomplishment. This led to the champion and challenger exchanging a few blows, teasing what’s to come at the pay-per-view.
It's official! This Sunday, March 7th at #AEWRevolution it's the champion @shidahikaru taking on the challenger @mizunami0324.
