Even before TNT champion Darby Allin mentioned it in his post-Dynamite promo, it seemed pretty clear John Silver finished their main event match with an injured shoulder.
He mentioned it on the post-show video, but there and in a tweet from after the match, Silver seemed to downplay whatever happened:
Came up short tonight. Shoulder is messed up. Doctor doesn’t think it’s too serious but I’ll keep everyone updated once I know.
— John Silver (@SilverNumber1) March 25, 2021
And that fits with the prognosis he shared this morning (Mar. 26) after getting it checked out:
Bad news: I’ll be out about 4-6 weeks
— John Silver (@SilverNumber1) March 26, 2021
Good news: I don’t need surgery and there is no major damage
If indeed it was a shoulder separation, that’s a best case scenario, as we’ve seen folks like Finn Bálor and Karrion Kross out months with the same injury.
Sucks that Silver won’t be able to quickly follow-up on the biggest match of his career, but much of the reason he found himself in that spot involved his character work on Being The Elite, Dark, and Dynamite. He should be able to continue to play a role on screen with Dark Order while he heals up.
We’re already hungee for the comeback.
