Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker beat the hell out of each other during last night’s (Mar 17) episode of Dynamite in an incredible bloodbath that will be a contender for match of the year. Oh yeah, it was also the first time a women’s match has ever main evented AEW Dynamite.
The wrestling world is still buzzing about this unforgettable match. Rosa and Baker, though, had very different reactions to what went down.
First, here is Rosa expressing what this win means in the bigger picture:
“My goal in life has always been to champion things for those women who don’t belong, who are ostracized and criticized, for those who are push aside and not taken serious. This win was bigger than me. It was for you! Never allowed anyone to tell you don’t belong...”
Then there is Baker, who spilled significantly more blood in the fight and lost. But she still survived the brutality of the Lights Out match, and that’s bad news for every woman in AEW:

It’s also worth including the reaction of AEW women’s champion Hikaru Shida, who always knew that Rosa, Baker and the entire women’s division was capable of thriving in the main event:
I told you in Sports Illustrated interview,

“We’re proving our division has the power to carry the show” #AEWDynamite #AEW
Now that AEW’s women’s division has been elevated by this showcase centerpiece match, where do you think it goes from here?
