After NJPW star KENTA made a shocking appearance on last night’s AEW Dynamite to ambush Jon Moxley, a tag team Lights Out match was teased for next week’s (Feb. 10) card.
AEW has now made it official, though it’s technically not an unsanctioned Lights Out match:
After last night’s classic main event + the shocking ending, @kennyomegamanx issued the challenge & @AEW GM @tonykhan has made the match for next week’s #AEWDynamite Wednesday Feb 10, Falls Count Anywhere, World Champion Kenny Omega & KENTA v. @JonMoxley & Lance Archer! @AEWonTNT https://t.co/3qXSLdqrWh pic.twitter.com/vEWbwz1kjW

Moxley is listed as the IWGP United States Champion in the graphic. He will team up with Lance Archer to take on KENTA and AEW world champion Kenny Omega in a ‘Falls Count Anywhere - Anything Goes’ match. Perhaps the kind of violence that was on display in Full Gear 2019’s Lights Out match between Moxley and Omega is a bit too much for television, so the match type was slightly altered.
It really doesn’t matter what they call it. That’s a hell of a main event right there, and a great sign of things to come in the future whenever the deal between AEW and NJPW can really accelerate.
Next week’s Dynamite will also include Chris Jericho & MJF vs. The Acclaimed, as well as Darby Allin defending the TNT championship against Joey Janela. Sting has promised to have Darby’s back if Team Taz shows up.
