AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view on Mar. 7 includes a “Face of the Revolution” ladder match, where six men will battle it out to earn a future shot at Darby Allin’s TNT championship.
Three of the six men have already been named - Cody Rhodes, Scorpio Sky, and Penta El Zero M. The winner of tonight’s (Feb. 24) main event match on Dynamite between Rey Fenix and Lance Archer becomes the fourth man to join the ladder match at Revolution.
The commentary team hyped this one up as an early match of the year candidate. I wouldn’t go that far, but what we got here was still very good.
One of the craziest moments occurred towards the end, when Fenix landed a Spanish Fly on the big man.
But Archer wasn’t done. He recovered and nailed Fenix with a buckle bomb, as well as a choke slam. He then put the match away with the Blackout. Archer bumped fists with Fenix after the fight, proving that he’s not the worst teammate after all.
Lance Archer now heads into Revolution as the biggest competitor in the field of the current four men who are announced for the ladder match.
