The Big Show news grabbed the headlines, but the more important piece of this morning’s big AEW announcement is probably the third weekly show Paul Wight will be doing commentary for.
We don’t know much about Dark: Elevation yet. More information, including Wight’s announce partner, is being promised on Dynamite tonight (Feb. 24). Based on it keeping the Dark branding and being on YouTube, the assumption is this will be more of what we’re already getting on Tuesday nights - just more important to the company’s big stories seeing as having Wight aboard will give Elevation a higher profile than original recipe Dark.
Another question raised by the Dark: Elevation reveal is whether or not this is the “third hour” we’ve been hearing about since AEW signed its contract extension with WarnerMedia and TNT more than a year ago.
Tony Khan says no. In response to a tweet from Wrestling Inc’s Raj Giri, the AEW President says the new TNT show is also coming this year.
That’s also still happening in 2021! And we’ll have more info tonight on #AEWDynamite about the arrival of @PaulWight here in @AEW, and about the launch and details for #AEWDark: Elevation, which is coming very soon!

So join us tonight in our live blog when we’ll learn more about Dark: Elevation - maybe even the date of its debut (so far we only know it will stream Mondays at 7 p.m. Eastern). And stay tuned for AEW to add a fourth weekly show to their line-up in the coming months.
Excited?
