AEW Rankings (Feb. 17, 2021): Jon Moxley stands in PAC’s way of a title shot

New, comments

AEW released their latest rankings (Feb. 17, 2021). Let’s check out the movers and shakers.

Men:

AEW

PAC’s impressive victory over “Hollywood Chump” Ryan Nemeth boosted him up a spot over Cody Rhodes.

PAC has left a path of brutalization on his quick climb up the charts. It would appear that Jon Moxley is the only person standing in PAC’s way for a title shot against Kenny Omega. AEW doesn’t always abide by the top 5 when awarding championship opportunities, however, Moxley is the big-money match for Omega at the Revolution PPV on March 7.

That leaves three more episodes of Dynamite for PAC to squeeze into the PPV main event. If PAC can’t manage to accomplish that, then he’ll probably have to wait until at least April to compete for gold. Something tells me that a man nicknamed “The Bastard” will be short on patience. This situation could get explosive very quickly.

Women:

AEW

Tay Conti is racking up wins on Dark to rise up the rankings. She passed over Serena Deeb on the strength of a victory over Vertvixen. Considering Deeb defeated Conti earlier this year, Deeb should have beef with the ranking committee.

Deeb will get her chance to prove those doubters wrong when she wrestles former champ Riho tonight on Dynamite as part of the women’s eliminator tournament.

Tag Team:

AEW

Jurassic Express squashed a couple of jabrones on Dark. That effort elevated them above FTR. When the Inner Circle wins, they all benefit. Due to Chris Jericho & MJF beating the Acclaimed last week, Santana & Ortiz moved up one spot ahead of Anthony Bowens & Max Caster.

Santana & Ortiz will have an opportunity to become the Inner Circle’s top team, as well as all of AEW, when they compete against the Young Bucks for the tag titles tonight on Dynamite.

Do you agree with AEW’s rankings this week? If not, what would you change?
