As he is wont to do from time to time, CM Punk did a fan Q & A on Twitter this afternoon in between sets.
Should we read anything into his starting the session with a GIF of the woman atop WWE’s most sought after list from when she interviewed Joe Biden last summer? Probably not, but I bet someone on the wrestle web will!

There were, unsurprisingly, a lot of wrestling ‘Q’s. They netted ‘A’s like reacting to Edge’s recent Royal Rumble win by saying “Super stoked for him to get a second act. And jealous of his abs”, saying of a planned match with Chris Benoit “all we talked about was beating the piss out of each other”, and boasting that the match with Stone Cold Steve Austin many of us were fantasy booking pre-Pipe Bomb “would’ve been short. GTS, 1 2 3.”
Getting more traction however is his response to a question about a possible future...
I see five guys that have potential. Hobbs, Darbs, Pillman, Starks, Jungle Boy. And that’s not to say there are others, but those guys stick out.

Couple things stands out to me from Punk naming Powerhouse Hobbs, Darby Allin, Brian Pillman Jr., Ricky Starks and Jungle Boy as AEW guys he’d like to work with:
- He meant it when he said he’s not interested in coming back to work with people he’s already wrestled.
- He’d be coming back to help make new stars. The two members of Team Taz are the oldest dudes he mentioned, and Hobbs & Starks are only 30.
Given that particular exchange is all done under a big “IF”, it’s probably best not to read too much more into that than you would the Cardi B GIF. But wrestling fans gonna wrestling fan, so don’t let us stop you if you do want to see this as a sign of “CM PUNK RETURN IMMINENT”.
