AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR FEB. 10
Pick up a guitar, kick out a sound, the music is hard and the music is loud. Got one hell of a band, one hell of a show, that’s one thing you all should know. Bad boys, rag dolls, ain’t gonna let you down, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the intro video.
Darby Allin (c) vs. Joey Janela (AEW TNT Championship)
Light grappling in the feeling out, Allin traps Janela in the corner, clean break, “scary” Scott Hall fingers from the Bad Boy. Darby with a hammerlock, Joey breaks dirty in the corner with an elbow to the face! Off the ropes, slide low, springboard arm drag from the champ! Hanging Janela over the ropes, to the apron, Joey hits a front brainbuster on the apron!
Off the ropes, he dives on Allin! Back in the ring, bodyscissors backhammer applied, switching to fishhook Darby’s mouth, Allin hits him in the ribs to force the break but Joey comes off the top with a double axehandle! Bad Boy up top, Darby cuts him off and wrenches him off the top turnbuckle by the arm, forcing his shoulder into the top rope! Slingshot knee, Janela trying to keep the momentum!
Back suplex lift, Allin floats over, shotgun dropkick sends Joey to the apron again, arm wringers over the ropes send him to the floor! Suicide dive follows, putting Janela into the barricade! Back inside, Janela cuts him off on the Coffin Drop, superkick... SO CLOSE! Lariat follows, getting him up but Darby counters into a Diamond Dust... NO GOOD!
Trading pin attempts, Janela snaps off a piledriver... HE CANNOT KEEP DARBY ALLIN DOWN! Setting Allin up top, climbing up to join him, jockeying for position... AVALANCHE YOSHI TONIC AND THE BAD BOY KICKS OUT! Allin up top for a followup...
Darby Allin wins by pinfall with the Coffin Drop to retain the AEW TNT Championship.
Commentary hypes up the rest of tonight’s show.
Jon Moxley cuts a promo outside.
He says Kenny Omega’s been talking trash and looking like a dork for months now, and last week was no surprise to him. The time for cheap talk is over, and if KENTA wants the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, he’s gonna have to come get it on February 26 at New Beginning USA.
But that’s a sanctioned match, and tonight he teams with a guy that’s tried to kill him multiple times in an unsanctioned match, just for fun.
We follow Sammy Guevara into the Inner Circle dressing room, and he asks the other guys to leave so he can have a minute with Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF makes a point of asking Wardlow to leave as well, but Sammy asks the camera operator to stay. Guevara says he watched last week and he knows exactly what Max is doing, that he’s trying to take the Inner Circle over.
Every week he makes it more and more obvious. Friedman says he thought this was petty jealousy, and why wouldn’t he be jealous given that he displaced Sammy as Chris Jericho’s favorite? But no, it’s not jealousy, he thinks Guevara hates Jericho’s guts and thinks he should be front and center. He thinks Sammy is upset because HE wants to take over the Inner Circle.
Guevara mockingly admits to all of it, MJF says that’s exactly what he wanted to hear and picks up his phone. Guevara immediately freaks out, asking if he had been recording him, and then throws the phone against the wall and cheapshots Friedman to send us to break.
Cezar Bononi & “Pretty” Peter Avalon vs. Nightmare Family (Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson)
Rhodes and Avalon to start, Cody in with strikes, putting Peter in the corner and putting boots to him! Johnson tags in, Bononi with the blind tag and he lays Lee out! Quick tags with Avalon, working Johnson over, Lee turns the speed up, jawbreaker on Cezar, tag to Rhodes! Precision strikes, laying Bononi out with a lariat, whip blocked, pumphandle suplex!
He stomps away at Rhodes in the ropes and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Rhodes and Avalon at it, fireman’s carry drop, tag to Johnson! In with lariats, back elbow sets up a jumping neckbreaker, kip-up, fired up, low-bridge Bononi... CORKSCREW TO THE FLOOR! Kick from the apron, up and over, kick to the gut, package neckbreaker onto the knee, Cezar breaks it up! Cody comes in to occupy the Brazilian, gets dumped out, Bononi with a pop-up drop on Johnson!
Lee keeps his wits about him...
Nightmare Family win by pinfall with a schoolboy pin from Lee Johnson on “Pretty” Peter Avalon.
Post-match, Tony Schiavone interviews Johnson.
He says he wishes he had a world of words for Tony, but after a year of losing he’s lost for words. He thanks his trainers and says the Rhodes family is his family, and they alone did this for him. Cody and Dustin raise his hand.
We get an interview with the Young Bucks from earlier today.
The Good Brothers roll up before they can really get going and crow about the ratings they popped. The Bucks want to address the problem of the Good Brothers interfering in the battle royal, saying that if they had won they would have picked Gallows and Anderson as their challengers. Anderson and Gallows spin things so that the Inner Circle are the Bucks’ biggest problem, and they issue a challenge to Santana and Ortiz for the tag titles, next week.
Good Brothers offer up a Too Sweet, Matt wants to keep it private but Nick is willing to go with it, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, “Hangman” Adam Page is interviewed backstage.
He waves off the idea of tagging with Matt Hardy more—
Matt Hardy rolls up and says they’re special and he just wants to celebrate their victory, private bar, it’s on him, drink as much as you like all night. Hangman goes to leave and collect his things and he runs into the Dark Order. He explains he’s going to the bar with Hardy and awkwardly walks through them.
PAC vs. Ryan Nemeth
PAC with a stomp that about near kills Nemeth right out the gates, snap suplex, missile dropkick, Ryan tries his best to get back in it, even hitting the big DDT ala his brother Dolph, but this is PAC’s match to lose...
PAC wins by submission with the Brutalizer.
We get a recap of last week’s wedding of Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.
Backstage, Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, and Wardlow are interviewed.
Jericho is ready for a match and says he’s sure MJF will be ready, when Friedman rolls up, ribs taped, with Ortiz and Santana. MJF explains what happened and says Sammy Guevara is a maniac. Jericho says they’ll take care of it later and they make their entrance.
Inner Circle (Chris Jericho & Maxwell Jacob Friedman) vs. the Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster)
Inner Circle get an inset promo with MJF running the Acclaimed down.
Caster immediately goes after Friedman’s ribs and he rolls out of the ring in pain. Jericho in, Max takes him over in short order, quick tag to Bowens and they double-team Y2J for two. Boot up, tag to Friedman, Anthony catches him with a back suplex facebuster for two. He manages to isolate Caster in the corner, working him over, tags with Chris, double flapjack, double giant steps, pose for the cameras!
High five, we go to break.
Back from commercial, MJF has Caster in a Cobra Twist! Jericho giving him leverage, match breaks down, tags made, Bowens with a dropkick to Y2J and a spin-out Argentine facebuster for Friedman! Ortiz tries to run in and gets dropped, Jericho with a cross-chop but Caster smashes his face with the boombox to cut the Lionsault off, Anthony covers... NOPE!
Bowens with a plancha, MJF steps aside, Jake Hager shoves Caster off the top and into Jericho’s path...
Inner Circle win by pinfall with Judas Effect from Chris Jericho on Max Caster.
Post-match, Sammy Guevara comes to the ring.
Jericho asks him what the problem is, and Sammy says he told him on December 9, right here on Dynamite, that if one more thing happened with MJF, he was done. So he’s out here to tell him he’s done. Y2J asks what he means, and Guevara says he quits the Inner Circle. Sammy leaves the ring and heads to the back while Jericho tries to collect himself and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Sammy Guevara is interviewed on his way out of the arena.
He says he just needs time away from here.
Cut to Matt Hardy and “Hangman” Adam Page drinking together.
Hardy says he’s had a great time and he knows Page doesn’t want to be a tag team guy, but he thinks he can dominate AEW and be The Guy. He can make him millions on millions for just 30% of his earnings. Hangman says he thinks he’s right and asks for a pen. Page does a switch, pulling papers out of his jacket and tossing Hardy’s contract aside while Matt tells the camera he needs a record of this.
Adam says Matt needs to sign here as well, he does, and then he immediately leaves to go do Big Money business.
Tony Schiavone interviews Sting.
Taz and Will Hobbs interrupt, saying they have a passenger and they’re going on a road trip to FTW world. The camera pans to reveal Ricky Starks and Brian Cage zipping Darby Allin into a body bag tied behind their car! They drive off, Sting gives chase, and we go to break.
Back from commercial, we get a recap of what just happened.
Footage from earlier today of Kenny Omega being interviewed on the golf course follows.
He promises us a show in his match tonight.
Thunder Rosa gets an inset promo during her entrance where she says she’s here to win the tournament, win her NWA title back, and take Britt Baker out.
Leyla Hirsch vs. Thunder Rosa (AEW Women’s World Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match)
Grappling to start, fireman’s carry takeover into a double wristlock attempt from Hirsch, drop toehold from Rosa, stalemate! Arm drags, front kick, scoop and a slam, Thunder off the ropes, senton connects, only two! Leyla with a waistlock, rolling her over a few times, wristlock, overhand chop, step-up springboard Frankensteiner sends Rosa to the floor!
Hirsch off the ropes, suicide dive connects, back inside, bodyscissors takeover into a cross armbar, Rosa escapes, off the ropes, back body drop to the apron, shoulder thrust, Rosa hits a neckbreaker over the middle rope! And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Rosa witha a sliding elbow in the corner, double knee drop, arm bothering her but she charges in for a hesitation dropkick... NOPE! Suplex blocked, Hirsch hits a series of German suplexes in return, moonsault off the top... THE KNEES WERE UP! Cover for two, knee strikes, step-up but Thunder ducks under the moonsault! Sliding kick, cover for two!
Counter a move into the armbar, Rosa posts to her feet and deadlifts Leyla for the powerbomb! Scoop lift...
Thunder Rosa wins by pinfall with a sit-out Michinoku Driver.
Commentary hypes up the Japanese side of the tournament bracket to be broadcast on YouTube on Monday.
Tony Schiavone does a sit-down interview with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry.
The good news is Marko Stunt is okay after FTR kidnapped him last week, and Perry wants to speak directly to the former tag team champions. He puts his match against Dax Harwood over and says it changed him, and they want FTR right here to look them in the eyes, and when they get that chance, he’s gonna make Harwood his bitch.
Commentary hypes up next week’s matches as well as tonight’s main event.
KENTA and Kenny Omega make their entrances and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Archer draws Omega up in the crowd and nails KENTA with an elbow! KENTA hits a Go 2 Sleep on “Pretty” Peter Avalon and goes to put Lance into the heart-shaped mattress he was lying on but Archer blocks and chokeslams Omega over the barricade and into it, cover... only two! Moxley comes back over, drawing KENTA up and throwing him into the barricade!
Front chancery, setting him down in a chair, right hand and a chest kick takes him out of his seat, cover for two! The two of them fight up into the stands while Omega recovers on the mattress and Archer heads off up into the stands himself. KENTA throws Mox into a fridge in the kitchen area, cover for two! Brawling, Jon throws him into some furniture and puts him on a steel table!
Climbing after him, drawing him up, KENTA reverses and hits a DDT to set GAME OVER up! Archer comes over and breaks it up with a box of potatoes! Omega from behind, putting him into a rack of some kind! Mox boots Kenny to the floor and then smashes him in the head with a potato! We get a recap of the match thus far to cover for everybody heading outside again.
Moxley and Omega brawling in one of the ramps that leads back into the arena, down to the timekeeper’s area, Jon gets a kendo stick out and wallops Kenny with it! Jake “the Snake” Roberts cheering him on from the apron, Mox gives him a little nod before going in the ring to hit Omega with the kendo stick some more! Off the top, Kenny cuts him off with a V-Trigger!
