The Blade opens up about dealing with anxiety & depression

The AEW star thanks Tony Khan & team for supporting him and helping him address his mental health.

Unfortunately, millions of people around the world struggle with mental health issues every day.

Thankfully, posts like this one from AEW’s The Blade (fka Braxton Sutter, real name Jesse Guilmette) are becoming more commonplace. Sharing his own experience living with anxiety & depression is good for Guilmette, as a burden shared is a burden lessened, and it’s often harder to feel alone or embarrassed in the light of the public than it is in secret by yourself.

It’s also good for anyone reading it who’s dealing with mental illness, and the world at large. Hearing other’s stories, and seeing that they were able to ask for help without being ignored or rejected - that’s huge. We’ve got a long way to go in terms of removing the stigma that issues like Guilmette’s are conditions to be treated, not weaknesses to be weeded out. But everyone with a platform who can be honest in this way helps.

Thanks Jesse.
