Dynamite ratings drop again, and it will likely get worse from here

All Elite Wrestling

The ratings and viewership data are in for last night’s (Oct. 6) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per ShowBuzzDaily, Dynamite netted 1,053,000 viewers for a 0.37 rating point in the 18-49 year old demographic. The numbers are down from last week’s results of 1,152,000 and 0.45 in these respective metrics. Dynamite ranked fourth place in the key demo rating on cable last night.

AEW achieved very impressive ratings and viewership numbers throughout the month of September, but October begins on a down note. Major League Baseball’s do-or-die playoff game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals topped the cable charts with 6.673 million viewers and a 1.73 rating in the key demo.

The sports schedule will only make things tougher on Dynamite from here. Next week’s episode is being bumped from Wednesday to Saturday (Oct. 16) thanks to the National Hockey League, and the following week’s Dynamite will also face a date change due to hockey.

How much of this week’s drop is related to sports, and how much is related to lower interest in Dynamite? Feel free to make your best guess in the comments below about what to make of these numbers, Cagesiders.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
