Hangman Page is back, and he just won a shot at Kenny Omega’s AEW World title

Oct. 6’s Anniversary edition of Dynamite in Philadelphia closed with the Casino Ladder match for a future World title shot.

Orange Cassidy, Lance Archer, Jon Moxley, Andrade El Idolo, Matt Hardy & PAC threw down as the announced entrants...

...but the focus was on the unrevealed final competitor. Fans across the web were hoping this would be Hangman Page, and a way for the story of his pursuit of the title - and his former tag partner Kenny Omega - to continue.

Based on the pop he received, a lot of those internet fans hoping for the anxious millennial cowboy were in the Liacouras Center.

Page has been absent since early August, reportedly out supporting and celebrating his wife giving birth to their first child after a kayfabe write-off at the hands of The Elite. He didn’t waste any time getting back into the swing of things, and contributing to the ladder match insanity.

It came down to Hangman brawling on the ladder with AEW’s premiere brawler. Page hung in there with Mox, and sent him crashing to the mat. He unclasped the giant poker chip, and one of wrestling’s best stories is back on - with a PPV named for one of Page’s old Being The Elite gimmicks just around the corner.
