Tonight’s (Oct. 29) episode of AEW Rampage featured a semifinals match in the World Title Eliminator Tournament between Bryan Danielson and Eddie Kingston. The winner of the tournament earns a future shot at the AEW World championship.
Tensions mounted in the lead up to this match with Bryan Danielson’s claiming that even though Eddie has a ton of heart, he hasn’t put enough work in to compete at Bryan’s level.
Kingston worked his ass off in this one, turning Bryan’s chest into a disturbing shade of red with a barrage of heavy strikes. But Bryan returned the strikes just as well as he took them.
The finish came when an exhausted Kingston nailed Bryan with the spinning backfist, but he collapsed and could not capitalize. He slowly crawled over to reach for the pin, but Danielson grabbed his arm and locked Eddie in a triangle choke. With Kingston trapped in the choke and also getting pummeled with elbow strikes, he flipped Bryan off as he passed out and lost the match:

A dejected Kingston refused to shake Bryan’s hand afterwards.
The win puts Danielson into the finals of the tournament, where he’ll be up against either Jon Moxley or Orange Cassidy on Nov. 13 at Full Gear.
