Dynamite falls under one million viewers with return to Wednesday

AEW Dynamite

The ratings and viewership data are in for last night’s (Oct. 27) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per ShowBuzzDaily, Dynamite netted 941,000 viewers for a 0.40 rating point in the 18-49 year old demographic. The show finished 4th place in the demo rating on cable for the night.

Of course these numbers are way up from the last couple episodes of Dynamite which aired on Saturday nights. But as far as AEW’s regular Wednesday time slot is concerned, this is the first time Dynamite has fallen under one million viewers since August 18. The demo rating of 0.40 is still impressive and did beat out a couple of those Wednesday episodes that reached one million viewers during the last two months, but it is on the lower end of the level that AEW has established since CM Punk joined the promotion.

Maybe AEW just needed a week here to start climbing back towards their normal levels following a couple weeks away from their typical time slot. Perhaps the World Series and the NBA put a bit of a dent in the numbers. Maybe it’s related to the fact that Dynamite won’t be airing in prime time in certain time zones for a while. The most logical explanation is that Cody’s stupid neck tattoo turned off more people than usual. Either way, AEW is likely satisfied with the results and is looking forward to getting the numbers back up from here with Full Gear not too far away.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
