Cody Rhodes gets booed, vows never to turn

The crowd in Boston’s Agganis Arena for the Oct. 27 Dynamite was not excited to see Cody Rhodes. That didn’t faze the American Nightmare, though.

Cody was here to tell everyone they paid for their tickets, and they can cheer or boo whoever they want. He asked for acknowledgement as a founder of the company, but also self-deprecatingly said he didn’t deserve his wife & daughter, and put over his brother as a better wrestler than him. Rhodes’ sneakers were (passive aggressively?) thrown to the crowd...

...and he told us all point blank he wouldn’t go back on his vow to not challenge for the World title - and he would not turn*.

It was when he apologized to everyone who thought he went Hollywood, including Arn Anderson, that brought out Andrade El Idolo.

Andrade said a lot of things the crowd wanted to hear, including...

Offering to make Cody his bitch looked like it would trigger the brawl, but first, the lights went out. Malakai Black was here, and his alliance with Andrade is more than a one-off from last week. The heels were cheered as they took out Rhodes & Anderson, but when PAC ran in for the save, he got the biggest pop of the segment.

Where is this going? To a match between Cody & Andrade next Wednesday. Beyond that? Stay tuned.

* But he did say he thought about hitting a Pedigree on Black last week, and that was probably the most heelish thing he said in a very strong promo that advanced his story. A lot of what Cody said was open to interpretation...
