Earlier this week, Jim Ross shared a pretty gnarly looking picture of an abnormal growth or lesion on his ankle. He tweeted that he was headed to get a CAT scan on it, as doctors thought it could be skin cancer. AEW’s lead announcer said he was staying positive.
Today (Oct. 23), JR revealed the diagnosis. While it is skin cancer, he’s awaiting a treatment plan, feeling great, and ready to call some pro wrestling on Dynamite from Orlando (and some college football highlights on YouTube before the show).
On my way to Orlando for tonight’s @AEW Dynamite.

Skin cancer confirmed. Waiting on radiologist study to determine best treatment. Likely radiation.
Feeling great and ready to attack.

Ross was diagnosed with skin cancer once before. The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about the surgery he had to remove the last of the cancerous tissue from his shoulder on an episode of his old The Ross Report podcast back in 2018.
Here’s hoping whatever course of treatment his doctors decide on for this latest instance is just as successful.
