The show opens into the intro video.

Commentary welcomes us to the show and hypes tonight’s festivities up.

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. Dustin Rhodes (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match)

Circling, shaking hands, collar and elbow right into a wristlock from Danielson. Reversed, hammerlock, Dragon with a side headlock and Rhodes throws him aside. Back to the lockup, side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, huge hip toss gets an arm drag and they stalemate!

Test of strength, leg pick, deathlock, knees to the ribs, stepping into the deathlock and falling back to wrench it in! Stepping out, converting it into a bow-and-arrow but Dustin gets the ropes to force the break! Another lockup, Danielson gets him right in the ropes and breaks dirty with right hands!

Uppercuts in the ropes, whip across, Rhodes with the dropdown slap but Bryan low-bridges him to the floor! Off the ropes... TOPE SUICIDA! Dustin up on the apron... CANNNONBALL! Back in, cover for one, Rhodes grabbing a wristlock, Dragon to his feet, rolling through and reversing, dropkick to the knee!

Leg kicks follow, uppercut in the ropes, Danielson gets under him for a back suplex but Dustin blocks and reverses to a German suplex! Smashing Bryan’s face into the turnbuckles, following it up with a wicked chop, Danielson chopping him back into the corner in return, butterfly suplex for two and he shifts to the cross armbar on the kickout!

Converting it to a short armscissors when Rhodes keeps his hands clasped, leveraging his hands apart, hand to the mat... BICEP STOMP! Tony Nese is shown briefly in the crowd, up in the turnbuckles... DUSTIN RHODES HITS THE SUPERPLEX! Both men down and out, rising ot their feet, trading vicious right hands and Dragon gets the better of the exchange!

Whip reversed, backflip up and over, duck a lariat, snap scoop powerslam catches Danielson out! Inverted suplex lift into the DDT... BRYAN KICKS OUT! Dustin punching away in the corner, whip reversed, shoved hard into the corner, running dropkick into kicks and chops in the corner from the American Dragon!

Up top, Frankensteiner blocked, Danielson crotched on the second and Rhodes takes him down with a lariat... NOPE! Bryan kicks out right into the omoplata for the LeBell Lock, no wasted motion! Dustin keeping his head down to block the hold, but Danielson pries his head up just enough for the crossface to go on... RHODES GETS A FOOT ON THE ROPES FOR THE BREAK!

Chest kicks, uppercuts, Bryan counters the dropdown slap into a backslide for two! Enzuigiri staggers Rhodes, wrists clutched, the “YOU’RE GONNA GET YOUR [REDACTED] HEAD KICKED IN!” stomps! Lying in wait for Dustin to rise... RHODES WAS READY AND COUNTERS IT WITH A LARIAT!

A PILEDRIVER CAN’T KEEP THE AMERICAN DRAGON DOWN! Final Cut blocked with a knee, roundhouse kick connects, leg kick, roundhouse kick, Rhodes is fading and Danielson locks a guillotine choke on! Dustin flagging, going limp, the bodyscissors are on...

“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson wins by referee stoppage with a guillotine choke.

The Elite cut a promo backstage.

Kenny Omega says he wishes he could say he’s excited to team with his boys against Dark Order, but tagging with Hangman Page felt like Halloween, always standing next to a man cosplaying as a cowboy. He knows Adam’s insecurities, and he knows that one-on-one against him he’s burning through diapers faster than he’s burning through moonshine.

If people knew him like he does, they wouldn’t chant “cowboy shit”, they’d chant “coward shit.”

And on that note, we go to break.

Back from commercial, FTR cut a promo about how they’re proud of being AAA World Tag Team Champions but they need the AEW World Tag Team Championship back to really cement their legacy as a tag team.

Lucha Brothers, or at least Penta el Zero M, get time to fire back, and Alex Abrahantes is all bruised up. They say revenge is coming.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to introduce Sting for an update on Darby Allin.

Sting, fake snow in his hair, is ready to speak—

Enter Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

He says the last thing he wants to do is embarrass an Icon in front of all these schmucks, and he’s here to have a gentlemen’s chat. He thinks Sting doesn’t want to tell the truth, that Darby Allin isn’t coming back. You can distract them by painting your face, swinging a bat, but what Sting isn’t understanding is that it’s easy to fool people that solve their problems with gun violence and incest.

He brings up Lex Luger being in a wheelchair and Sting drops him with a right hand! Brawling into the corner, tearing his jacket off, fighting off Shawn Spears and Wardlow but eventually That Damned Numbers Game overwhelms the Stinger and Spears beats him down with a chair.

MJF takes a seat in the opened chair and he talks to Darby, asking if he’s broken him mentally yet, cradling Sting’s unconscious form. He wants Allin to understand something— no matter how many times people chant his name, no matter how bad they want to see him come back, if he comes back, this is his future, he’ll always fall short and be second best to Max and Max alone.

He is the past, the present, and the future of professional wrestling.

Sting starts to get back up and Friedman returns to the ring to drop him with a ring-assisted right hand!

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone interviews Dr. Britt Baker, DMD backstage.

She cuts a promo about how great she is and how if Tay Conti had just climbed up the ranks the right way she’d be happy to fight her but since she took a shortcut, she’s happy to show everyone her ass.

Penelope Ford vs. Ruby Soho (AEW TBS Championship Tournament First Round Match)

Ford right in and striking, keeping Soho off balance, Ruby with uppercuts, whip across, STO denied! Penelope traps her in the corner and puts boots to her, handspring shoulder block, Soho sidesteps a boot, northern forearm, roll over, solebutt, off the ropes, front kick... NOPE!

Whip to the corner, back body drop to the apron, sidestep, Ruby lands a kick and they trade forearms on the apron as The Bunny comes to run interference. Rick Knox warns her off as Penelope puts Soho’s head into the post and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Soho lighting her up with chops, kicks, northern lariat... NOPE! Whip reversed, boot up in the corner, up and over, Matrix evasion, Ruby just cold deadlifts her out of the bridge! Off the ropes... ACE CRUSHER BUT SOHO KICKS OUT! Whip reversed, big STO out of the corner, headed up top, nobody home and she rolls through!

Ford with a scorpion kick, fireman’s carry gutbuster... NO! Knucks get involved, Knox kicks them out of the ring...

Ruby Soho wins by pinfall with a Gedo Clutch.

Post-match, Ruby’s ready to take them both on but Red Velvet makes the save and helps her run them off!

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is backstage to call Darby Allin out when Wardlow rolls up.

He asks MJF why he threw him in front of Sting last week, and MJF apologizes, saying it was fight or flight and he’d never do it on purpose. Wardlow’s doing a great job but that’s a lot of pressure so he’s assigned Shawn Spears as his accountibilibuddy.

Friedman leaves the two of them to hang out and we go to break.

Anthony Greene vs. Bobby Fish

Circling, Fish in with forearms and body blows, knees and leg kicks, chopping Greene down, slingshot out and back in with a senton for two! Kicking Anthony into the corner, clubbing blows and knees, double leg into the corner hard! Dragon screw, exploder suplex into the ropes and Bobby’s rolling!

Buzzsaw roundhouse...

Bobby Fish wins by pinfall with the buzzsaw roundhouse kick.

Post-match, Fish comes back and takes Greene’s legs out from under him for good measure, following that up with mounted punches as referee Paul Turner tries to talk sense into him. Sleeper hold applied... CM PUNK MAKES THE SAVE!

Tony Schiavone interviews Dante Martin and Lio Rush backstage.

Lio says anything he does, he does big, and he’s trying to put Dante on the highest flight available, unlike Matt Sydal. Martin tells him Matt is one of the best in the world, but Rush says he knows Dante is better than Sydal already, which is why he went to Tony Khan and got them both a match next week, tagging against the Sydal brothers.

Eddie Kingston vs. Lance Archer (AEW World Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament First Round Match)

Kingston attacks Archer during his entrance and they brawl at length! Lance eventually throws a fan over the barricade and chokeslams the poor guy off the apron and into Eddie!

Finally taking things in the ring, we get a bell, charging elbows from Archer in the corner, big chops, Kingston pokes his eye but Lance keeps the pressure up, thinking Blackout but Eddie slips out and reverses into a Dragon sleeper! Thinking Stretch Plum but Archer’s too tall and Kingston lets go!

Off the ropes, northern lariat sends Eddie crashing to the apron and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Archer in control, scoop and a slam, turning Vader Bomb... NOPE! Choking Kingston under the ropes, raking his eyes, stomping him down in the corner as he begins to rally! Lance off the top with a moonsault... NOBODY HOME AND HE LANDED ON HIS HEAD!

The ringside doctor checks on Archer but he seems to want to keep fighting, he goes back inside...

Eddie Kingston wins by pinfall with a schoolboy pin.

And so we go to break.

Back from commercial, Dan Lambert is in the ring with Men of the Year.

“All Ego” Ethan Page gets on the mic and says the Inner Circle sucks and they’ve beat them twice, and he’s gonna go into detail on them. Jake Hager is undefeated in MMA? That’s great, but Scorpio Sky pinned him at Grand Slam. Santana and Ortiz are hard, well wherever the Men of the Year go, they own that place.

Chris Jericho, who’s not here tonight, he can do literally whatever he wants, and last week he tried to flirt with Paige VanZant on TV? That’s what he wants to do with his time? Well the only celebrity he’s kissing is Jorge Masvidal’s knee, and while Chris is off cruising, he should look at them, the future of pro wrestling.

Sammy Guevara comes out to cut a counter promo and Dan tells him he’s actually kind of proud of him for being out here and killing it on the mic and maybe that’ll end the rumors that he’s terrible on the stick. He insults Sammy and says he’s got his ten-man tag team match at Full Gear, if and only if he comes to Dynamite next week in Boston and puts that TNT title on the line against Ethan Page.

And when he loses, he also leaves the Inner Circle forever.

Guevara asks if he has it straight, if he loses he loses his title and his friends, so he has a counter stipulation— if he wins, he gets to pick the members of American Top Team that are in the tag match.

Scorpio Sky tells him to accept the ass-whipping he’s about to have, but Hager, Ortiz, and Santana show up to run Lambert and American Top Team off.

Jon Moxley cuts a promo.

He says he’s supposed to be yelling about how he’s going to wreck everyone to win this tournament, and he is, but that’s not really what’s on his mind. Right now he’s thinking about his daughter’s eyes. He looks in her eyes and she stares back and she grabs his pinky and squeezes it for everything she’s got.

In that moment it occurs to him that he doesn’t care about any of this, not the tournament, not who says what on Twitter, what he cares about is getting home with his teeth in his head and his head on his shoulders, and for that, people have to get hurt.

It’d be easier if he was a mailman or a gym teacher, but this is what he does. His message to everyone in this tournament? He’ll get you before you get him, and he’s going to win the whole damn thing.

Sammy Guevara comes back out with his signs to send us to break.

Back from commercial the Dark Order are hanging out backstage when “Hangman” Adam Page rolls up.

He wants to apologize for not catching up with them sooner and for everything that happened while he was gone, and if they want to go after the Elite on Halloween week, they’re gonna be wearing costumes so the Dark Order have to step up.

Brandon Cutler vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry

Cutler celebrates an early advantage and gets the taste slapped out of his mouth, Perry with a powerbomb to set him up...

“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry wins by submission with the Snare Trap.

Post-match, Perry gets on the mic and says that was a nice little warm-up and Cutler tried, but he’s feeling pretty good and he’s ready to go again. So why don’t one of you Elite pieces of shit come down here right now?

He puts Brandon back in the Snare Trap and Cutler begs for his pals to make the save!

Adam Cole comes down and asks if Jungle Boy thinks he’s big and bad picking on Brandon, well he’s right here and ready to fight. Perry cuts Cole off with a forearm as he gets in the ring but he turns right around into a superkick party from the Young Bucks!

They drag Jack to the stage and hit the BTE Trigger before Cole hits Last Shot! They hold him up and Cole calls him a nobody, telling him the Elite run AEW... AND THE BUCKS THROW JUNGLE BOY OFF THE STAGE AND THROUGH A TABLE!

Commentary hypes up next week’s shows, including Bobby Fish vs. CM Punk on next week’s Dynamite!

Back from commercial, Miro cuts a promo where once again he calls out his god for forsaking him.

Cody Rhodes vs. Malakai Black

Charging in, collar and elbow, go-behind, standing switch, Rhodes wants the spinning toehold but Black fights out of it and gets him in a front chancery in the ropes! Headlock takeover from Cody, reversed, Malakai gets one, same result, and now we’re trading forearms!

Black gets a kneebar and falls back, Rhodes gets to his feet and stamps Malakai’s face until he lets go! Drawing him up, right hand gets an elbow gets one! Reverse chinlock applied, trying to grind Cody down, shifting to a waistlock but Rhodes fights away with a back elbow and hits the snap scoop powerslam for one!

Cody takes his weight belt off and throws it to the crowd, spinning toehold, Black gouges his eyes and rolls to the floor! Malakai goes under the ring for plunder and comes up with a steel chair, throwing it in the ring while Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson make their way to ringside.

Rhodes threatens him with the chair and we go to break.

Back from commercial, Rhodes is crawling away from the aftermath of Cross Rhodes off the apron and through a table! Black puts Cody into the post and Arn Anderson gets in the ring while Malakai fishes under the ring, forehead bleeding, for some kind of plunder.

Cody’s bleeding as well, referee Paul Turner checking on him and Andrade el Idolo makes his way down the aisle, firing finger guns at Arn! Jose gets in the ring... ANDERSON SPINNING SPINEBUSTER TAKES HIM OUT! BLACK SPITS THE MIST AT ARN! PAC COMES DOWN TO COUNTER ANDRADE AND THEY BRAWL ON THE RAMP!

Malakai trading shots, ripcord elbow, moonsault connects but Rhodes has his wits about him, Cross Rhodes... SO CLOSE! Putting boots to Black, suplex over the ropes, chest kick connects, Malakai up top, diving double stomp! Front kick into a pump knee, bridging German suplex... NO GOOD!

Black lying in wait, Black Mass connects but Rhodes falls to the apron! Cody gets back to his feet, back body drop over the ropes and to the floor, Malakai slingshots, Orihara Moonsault... NOBODY HOME! SUICIDE DIVE FROM RHODES! Back inside, Cody Cutter, Cross Rhodes, hanging on, underhooks...

Cody Rhodes wins by pinfall with a Jay Driller.

Arn and Cody regroup together.

That’s the show, folks.
