Dynamite’s numbers up from its last Saturday show

The ratings and viewership data are in for last Saturday’s (Oct. 16) episode of AEW Dynamite, courtesy of Showbuzz Daily.

As expected with the start of the NHL season moving the show out of its usual Wednesday night timeslot, the numbers took a tumble from the previous episode. Saturday’s audience of 727K was almost 31% below Oct. 6’s, and the .28 rating in the 18 - 49 year old demographic was down 24% from the last Wednesday show.

A better comparison, however, is probably the last Saturday episode. When the NBA Playoffs bumped Dynamite off TNT’s Wednesday schedule on June 26, the show drew 649K with a .21 in the key demo. Last weekend’s numbers were a 12% improvement in viewership, and 33% better in the ratings.

The competition was arguably stronger on Oct. 16, too. The most recent Dynamite went up against nationally televised Major League Baseball Playoff and college football games; June’s Saturday show only dealt with an NBA Playoff game.

Combined with what Rampage did against SmackDown the night before, Tony Khan & his partners at WarnerMedia are probably pretty happy right now.

Here’s a breakdown of AEW viewership and rating in the 18-49 demo over the last year:
