CM Punk makes his entrance to join commentary for tonight’s show.
Dante Martin vs. Malakai Black
Collar and elbow, waistlock, standing switch, Black nails him with a forearm, German suplex, Martin lands on his feet! Big arm drag from Malakai gets the headscissors counter but he just does another arm drag and blocks the counter! Back and forth, Black clobbers him with a forearm, up and over, springboard dropkick countered into a powerbomb and the half-crab!
Leg pick, Dante fights out, kick blocked, Malakai with a wicked STO and he follows it up with a shinbreaker! Slick leg pick into a kneebar but Martin manages to kick his way out! Forearms from the apron, pulling himself up, springboard countered but Dante hangs on, sunset flip... NOPE! Springboard into a Poison Frankensteiner and Malakai is out on his feet!
Black on the ramp, Martin springboards... SOMERSAULT SENTON TAKES MALAKAI BLACK OUT! Back in, double jump moonsault, nobody home, he lands on his feet and goes right into trading elbows with Black! A kick combo staggers him briefly but he clocks Malakai with an enzuigiri and sends him crashing into the corner!
Stomp out of the corner, Meteora connects, roundhouse kick, German suplex into the bridge... DANTE MARTIN WILL NOT STAY DOWN! Up in the turnbuckles, jockeying for position... AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER! Martin comes up lame in one leg and can’t capitalize! Double jump moonsault connects a second time but he doesn’t get all of it and is slow to the pin so it’s just a nearfall!
Black reverses right into an Achilles Lock but lets go of it and clutches his midsection, trying to catch his wind! Dry heaving, he gets to his feet and picks the leg, putting Martin on the apron where he hits a shoulder block and staggers the veteran again! One leg springboard, nobody home... BLACK MASS! IT’S OVER!
Malakai Black wins by pinfall with Black Mass.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Jurassic Express are interviewed backstage.
Jungle Boy says the whole team is banged up and Christian Cage is at home with neck issues, and they’re lucky Luchasaurus can walk. Adam Cole and Kenny Omega roll up as a distraction and the Young Bucks lay Jurassic Express out with superkicks and powerbomb the dino man through a table!
The Inner Circle make their entrance.
Santana gets on the mic and greets Miami, thanking them for their energy, but soon he’s interrupted by Dan Lambert, American Top Team, and Men of the Year.
Lambert gets on the mic and demands some respect, to which Chris Jericho just calls him a fat-faced dipshit again. Jericho asks Paige VanZant if she’s obsessed with him and going to slide into his DMs, but he wouldn’t touch her with her husband’s genitals.
He continues to insult her before saying the jokes are done and the Inner Circle is reunited tonight. No more handicap beatdowns, they’re ready to go five-on-five, choose whoever you want, because nobody’s crazier than the Inner effin’ Circle!
Dan says if it was up to him he’d beat their asses every day of the week and collect the easy paycheck but they have plans that involve championship gold. He insults each member in turn and points out that Sammy Guevara is the only one with the stroke to make that tag match happen.
But will he step up to the plate and agree to their terms? Lambert says he’s not gonna explain the terms this week and cedes the floor to Scorpio Sky. He says that Jericho’s brain might be fuzzy from Jorge Masvidal’s knee, but he’s pinned the GOAT twice now.
Sammy Guevara says he’ll see them next week and he’ll kick every one of their asses.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Andrade el Idolo introduces his pals, Las Super Ranas.
Las Super Ranas (Super Rana I & Super Rana II) vs. Lucha Brothers (Penta el Zero M & Rey Fenix) (c) (AAA World Tag Team Championship)
Fenix in with one Rana, trading some fast-paced lucha libre, Super tearing at Rey’s mask and he turns it around and tears at Rana’s mask! Penta joins the fun with the other Rana but they fight the champs off! Luchas turn things around and tear the masks off... IT’S FTR!
And on that shocking note we go to break.
Back from commercial, FTR dump both brothers to the ramp! Harwood draws Penta up, gets shrugged off, Rey Fenix assisted dropkick off of his brother’s shoulders! Pentagon with a missile dropkick... NO GOOD! Stereo dives, back inside, Penta manhandles Dax but ends up brawling on the floor with Wheeler!
Back inside, Fenix runs the ropes, spinning roundhouse takes Cash out, Dax with an O’Connor roll and a handful of tights, only two! Dodge a kick, forearm, inverted Tiger feint kick, moonsault, Tully Blanchard running interference, belt shot...
FTR win by pinfall with a vertical drop brainbuster from Dax Harwood on Rey Fenix to become your new AAA World Tag Team Champions.
Lio Rush and Dante Martin are interviewed backstage.
Lio says tonight was meant to happen, growing pains, the failure you need to succeed, but Martin knows that and if he listens to him, everything will be money. And from now on, Dante has a new tag partner, and his name is Lio Rush.
A surprised Dante Martin fistbumps him and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Tony Schiavone tries to cut Andrade el Idolo and FTR off as they leave the arena with the AAA titles, but Maxwell Jacob Friedman rolls up.
Max asks if he’s paying check or cash, and Andrade says both and hands him a fat envelope. MJF reminds him that it’s a one-night deal and runs off with the money.
Jon Moxley vs. Wheeler YUTA
Moxley with a lariat out the gates, crossface strikes in the ropes, referee Bryce Remsburg warning him off, Crash Landing! Mounted punches, he gets Wheeler up in the underhooks...
Jon Moxley wins by pinfall with Paradigm Shift.
Post-match, the ringside doctor and Orange Cassidy check on YUTA.
Serena Deeb is interviewed backstage.
She says it was only a matter of time before she came back to drag the women’s division back to greatness, but she gets attacked by Hikaru Shida! They brawl against a freight door!
Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, & John Silver) vs. SuperKliq (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson)
SuperKliq tries to take Dark Order out before the bell and fails!
At the bell, Dark Order to go work, Nick the legal man but all three Elites taking their turn! The match is a little too fast-paced for my ill brain to keep up with but eventually they take Reynolds out on the floor with a superkick-assisted brainbuster over the knee and celebrate in the ring!
Silver legal and isolated in the corner, they beat him down as we go to break.
Back from commercial, the Elite are still in control on the Meat Man but he manages to reverse a double-team and suplex both Bucks! Hot tag to Uno, he gets one of Nick’s shoes but Matt cuts him off! Back body drop puts Matt to the floor, big right hand cuts nick off and he does a Mr. Socko on Nick Jackson!
Superkick cuts him off, Cole grabs a Camel Clutch, the Bucks off the ropes and they get cut off by the Beaver Boys and steal a kiss from Adam Cole, Bay Bay! Back body drop sends Adam to the floor and the Dark Order flex in the ring! They get a deep nearfall on Cole but end up low-bridged to the floor, Matt with a dropkick, Nick with a tope con giro!
Alex takes Matt out with a kick, trades kicks with Cole but counters the knee with a schoolboy for two! Alarm Clock, underhooks, Adam slips out, Superkick Party! Out of the corner, Panama Sunrise! Superkicks clear Dark Order out, BTE Trigger, Cole off the ropes...
SuperKliq win by pinfall with Last Shot from Adam Cole on Alex Reynolds.
Post-match, Jungle Boy runs down to attack Cole and blocks the cold spray with a chair, beating Brandon Cutler down while the rest of the Elite run away!
We get a video package of Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson rolling up to inspect the Nightmare Factory.
The trainees tell Cody off for being late and being an arrogant piece of shit, and then we get footage of Rhodes running drills to try and tighten up his game. Brock Anderson tags him with a body blow, Lee Johnson gets an uppercut, an enzuigiri from somebody else knocks him silly!
Bleeding from the mouth, Cody asks what he’s doing, because he’s not learning shit. Arn tells him he’s said he’ll never do anything to let the kids down, and does he think the kids were let down when Dusty Rhodes was putting thirty stitches in his head?
They weren’t, because he had it coming, and Malakai Black has it coming.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman makes his entrance and gets on the mic.
He runs the town down and tells Justin Roberts off for not introducing him for his match against Darby Allin.
MJF does his own intro and calls Darby out for no-showing after the brutal attack from the entire Pinnacle last week. He continues to run Allin down for being “mid” and says if the people want to see him wrestle Darby tonight, by god he’s gonna make it happen, and he calls Wardlow down.
Wardlow brings referee Bryce Remsburg with him and Max orders him to count to ten so he can beat Darby Allin by forfeit.
Bryce starts counting but the lights go down!
STING IS HERE!
Friedman runs away and makes like he’s gonna come back but he doesn’t.
Back from commercial, commentary hypes up the #1 contender’s tournament to the AEW World Championship.
Tony Schiavone interviews Anna Jay backstage but Dr. Britt Baker, DMD rolls up to put her boyfriend’s faction over for beating Jay’s Dark Order and call her a loser and a follower for her trouble.
A brawl breaks out and gets broken up.
Kiera Hogan vs. Penelope Ford
Collar and elbow, into the corner and Ford breaks clean. Shove gets a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block, drop down, leapfrog, arm drag and Penelope gets an armbar out of it! Into the corner, elbow, Kiera sidesteps a boot and levels her with a neckbreaker for two!
Ford regains control as we go to break.
Back from commercial, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles... HOGAN HITS THE SUPERPLEX! Trading strikes in the middle of the ring, going forearm for forearm, charging elbows, Kiera with a shotgun dropkick and then a sliding boot in the corner... NO GOOD!
Back and forth, Hogan goes with a cutthroat lungblower... NOPE! Ford catches her, Muta Lock... IT’S OVER!
Penelope Ford wins by submission with the Muta Lock.
Post-match, Ruby Soho attacks Ford!
She presses the attack but the Bunny makes the save!
Miro gets a video package where he talks to god and says he knows he can’t go home to his wife like this. Was he not proud enough, did he not give enough praise? He gave him a body of granite and a neck of sand, is that a joke? Why have you forsaken your champion?
He’s done pleading with god, now he’s telling him— make him a champion or make him an enemy, but if you stay silent, he’ll snap necks under his foot, and everyone will know pain until he becomes champion and sees her once again.
Tony Schiavone introduces “Hangman” Adam Page for an in-ring interview.
He talks about leaving Ring of Honor and New Japan with the Elite to start AEW and he was excited because he believed they’d change the world, but it feels like the world changed them.
It changed him, and he told all of us on literal day one that he’d be the first AEW World Champion and he failed. He lost to Chris Jericho, he lost to PAC, and then it felt like he started to lose a hell of a lot more. He lost his confidence, he lost his friends, and truthfully he lost himself.
But the one thing he never lost, that grew week to week and got louder, were the people chanting “cowboy shit!” and to him, that’s very real. Cowboy shit was taking his shot on day one, was winning the tag titles with Kenny Omega and defending them every chance they got, learning to accept the past and let new friends into his life, and cowboy shit is taking his chance and putting it on the line to stick his neck out for those friends.
And cowboy shit was having the balls to turn around in the middle of the hottest run of his career to go home and be there for his beautiful baby boy, that’s cowboy shit. So last week he finally put his body on the line to grab the chip and earn a shot for the one thing that’s eluded him this whole time.
To him, that’s the thing. When you fall off, you get back on the horse, and that’s cowboy shit. Despite all that he thinks we still believe in him, and for the first time in his life, he does too.
At Full Gear he’ll give us everything, his blood, his sweat, and his tears, but the one thing he’s 100% sure is he’ll give us cowboy shit.
Commentary hypes up cards for next week to send us to break.
Bobby Fish vs. “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson
Circling, collar and elbow, Fish with forearms, off the ropes, shoulder block, snapmare into a kick to the back, cover for two. Bryan starts putting him in a Romero Special but stomps the knees instead! Arm wringer into a hammerlock, Bobby backs him into the corner to force the break.
Landing kicks, Danielson back body drops him to the floor, Dragon off the ropes... TOPE SUICIDA! Up on the apron but Fish trips him up with a kick and we go to break!
Back from commercial, Fish in control and wrenching his foot over the ropes! Hamstring kicks, Danielson fires back with desperate forearms but Bobby clobbers him! Leg kick takes him to the mat, circling around Bryan, feeling cocky about it, sliding lariat... NOPE!
Dragon with an ankle lock, dragging Fish to the middle of the ring, trapping the leg... EVEREST GERMAN SUPLEX! Uppercuts and leg kicks from Bryan, discus lariat countered into strikes from Bob! Dragon screw takes him out and Danielson starts to put it together!
Another dragon screw, posting Fish’s leg a few times, back inside for a chop block! Chest kicks follow but Bobby blocks the first on and hits a cradle German suplex! Setting Bryan up top, jockeying for position... AVALANCHE FALCON ARROW! FISH DID THE DEAL BUT DANIELSON KICKS OUT! FISH TRAPS HIM IN A KNEEBAR!
Dragon rolls over, heel hook applied, trading kicks to the neck, Bryan takes the lead, leg pick, DDT the knee right into the heel hook! IT’S OVER!
“American Dragon” Bryan Danielson wins by submission with a heel hook.
Post-match, brackets for the #1 contender’s tournament are announced— Preston “10” Vance vs. Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy vs. “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, Dustin Rhodes vs. Bryan Danielson, and Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston.
That’s the show, folks.
