Minoru Suzuki is coming to Impact

The Forbidden Door beckons once more for Impact Wrestling. Knock, knock. Who’s there? Minoru Suzuki!

Impact announced that NJPW star Suzuki is coming soon.

No date or opponent was mentioned in the teaser. Impact’s upcoming schedule includes the Bound for Glory PPV on October 23 then a TV taping for October 24 & 25 in Las Vegas, NV. If AEW has plans for Suzuki on their Saturday night Dynamite for October 23, then Suzuki will likely have to wait to appear at the TV tapings.

As for who Suzuki should face, it’s an open field. If Josh Alexander wins the Impact World Championship from Christian Cage at Bound for Glory, then Suzuki would be a notable adversary for the new champ’s first title defense.

Another idea would be bringing in Lance Archer to team with Suzuki and going after the Good Brothers as tag champs. Singles matches against Anderson and Gallows would be a productive way to fill time until the big bout. In fact, Suzuki has history with Anderson. Suzuki leads their personal series 3-2, but Anderson had the last win back in 2014. That should be enough motivation to craft a quick story.

Impact could also rely on Eddie Edwards to deliver a slobberknocker with Suzuki. Edwards deserves all the big matches he can get as one of Impact’s pillars.

Will the presence of Minoru Suzuki encourage you to tune in to Impact Wrestling? Who do you want to see Suzuki wrestle in the Impact Zone?
