ROH Women’s TV championship division is coming into picture with contenders

ROH recently unveiled the new women’s television championship.

Details to determine the inaugural titleholder are still scarce, but the division is coming into picture with contenders chomping at the bit to win gold. Leyla Hirsch, Kiera Hogan, Lady Frost, Rachael Ellering, and Billie Starkz were specifically singled out in a promo package. Mercedes Martinez and Diamante are looking to put respect on their names. Taya Valkyrie was made for the TV title. And the list goes on.

Starkz has to be the fan favorite to prevail. After coming up short against Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship, the minion is setting her sights on the TV strap. Hussies, beware.

Starkz backed up her bravado with a win over Vertvixen. She even adhered to Athena’s training for a post-match attack on that hussy. No mercy.

Taya Valkyrie has to be the betting favorite to win the TV prize. La Wera Loca possesses championship pedigree as the longest-reigning Knockouts champion in Impact/TNA history, a four-time Reina de Reinas champion in AAA, the inaugural MLW women’s featherweight champion, and several other accolades. Adding the ROH Women’s World Television Championship to her résumé would feel natural.

In the past few weeks, Taya earned a singles win over Vertvixen as well as captaining the Renegade twins for a trios victory over Hogan, Frost, and Trish Adora. Sprinkle bragging rights onto Taya’s spot atop the TV pecking order.

Hirsch officially split from Maria Kanellis’ attempt at managing her career after Maria tried to cause Ellering to lose. Hirsch wasn’t going to let Maria do her friend dirty like that. Hirsch and Ellering are both focused on the TV belt, but Martinez and Diamante told Shorty Doo-wop and Smiley McSmiley to slow their roll. Suckas!

Hirsch and Ellering turned out to be suckas after all when they lost the tag team bout to the OG Badasses. Ellering saved Hirsch from a double-team down the stretch only to eat the pin herself. This result could be fuel for doubt in the mind of Hirsch. And with that doubt could be an opening for Maria to claw her way back into Hirsch’s career.

Also of note, Red Velvet and Queen Aminata earned singles wins.

ROH has a wide array of talent to choose from to fill out a tournament, or whatever method they decide, in determining the first women’s TV champion.

Who do you think will be the inaugural ROH women’s television champion?
