Alexander Hammerstone free agency promo about the one criticism that bothers him

Alexander Hammerstone’s time with MLW has officially concluded, and the former world champion is now a free agent. Hammer posted a free agency promo focusing on one criticism that bothers him.

The video starts with a training session as the clock strikes midnight for January 1, then Hammerstone delivers his speech with intensity.

Hammerstone: Well, here we are. I’m officially a free agent, for the first time in five years. Don’t worry. I’m not going to give you some speech about how I was stuck or trapped or locked away in some prison, the kind of stuff that guys say when they weren’t able to get over somewhere. Because I did. I did get over. I did succeed. I became a world champion.

But there’s one thing that I would hear every once in a while and would bother me. And maybe there is a grain of truth to it. That I was a big fish in a small pond.

Well, now, I’m allowed to walk through whatever door that I want to. Well, except the ones that are nailed shut in a desperate attempt to keep me out, because they’re worried what will happen if I get through them.

And everyone wants to know. All the fans want to know where I’m going. All the podcasters want an interview. All the dirt sheets want a comment.

But I’m not looking for an opportunity. I am giving an opportunity. Because I have been one of the best in the world for years now, so I want to face the very best in the world. So, this is my open challenge to anyone out there. Because I was never a big fish in a small pond. I have always been a shark. Now, I’m in open waters, and it’s hunting season.

That is a very good promo from Hammerstone. It acts as a rallying cry for fans who want to see him succeed, and it also gives ammunition for the haters to scoff. His words create a reason for both sides to care about the next chapter of his journey.
