The Nightly: May 26th, 2023

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the Rescuers as we end the 70s era of Disney animated movies. I didn’t really care for this one all that much. The story revolves around two mice, part of a Rescue Aid Society, who venture out to save a kidnapped orphan. The movie did well both critically and commercially, and I don’t really understand it. For me, this movie was dull and forgettable. This was a step below Aristocats in that respect. But at least with Aristocats, that at least had a couple of memorable scenes and characters. I just watched this movie only a couple of hours ago, and I remember so little about this movie. That’s how little impact it left. Is it the worst thing ever? Honestly, no, not really. I wouldn’t even go so far as to call this a bad movie, as I can see how this film did well critically and commercially. But for me, there wasn’t a whole lot for me to like in this movie. It is the definition of a mid Disney movie.

On to the Nightly.
