Ariel Helwani’s X

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • WWE is sending out fan surveys asking how fans feel about TKO running events for both WWE and UFC the same weekend. There have been rumors that could be in the cards in the near future.
  • WrestleNomics covered a conference call in which TKO COO Mark Shapiro seemed to hint that WWE house shows could be cut back in the future.
  • For whatever it’s worth, odds from BetOnline have Kazuchika Okada most likely to re-sign with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
  • PW Insider notes the Wes Lee injury is legitimate and not part of a storyline.
  • They also say that word was going around backstage at NXT TV this week that Cora Jade is expected to be at Deadline.
  • The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes AEW went higher than WWE in its offer to Will Ospreay and “those in WWE conceded that” and “even questioned the leaders about it.”

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you’d like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. And check our weekly Rumor Look Back here to keep track of how often rumors turn out to be correct.
