Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance at a wrestling show in Vietnam

After he & Kenny Omega earned a Tag title shot by beating The Young Bucks at Full Gear, AEW wrote Chris Jericho off television for a little while by having champs Ricky Starks & Big Bill attack him backstage.

It’s alway tough to guess what Jericho might be up to with a little downtime. Fozzy gig? Cameo appearances in future cult classic movie? “Just asking questions” of a conspiracy theorist?

He may still get up to some or all of those things before we see him on Dynamite or Collision again, but over the weekend we learned about something else he did while away from his home promotion — take a trip to Saigon so he could make a surprise appearance at Vietnam Pro Wrestling’s Immortal Glory show.

In addition to providing a cool moment from some unsuspecting fans in the Southeast Asian country...

... Jericho also put over Immortal Glory’s main eventers, PCW Ultra Women’s Champion Viva Van and Sumie Sakai, inducting them into the VPW Hall of Fame:

As for what brought Le Champion to Saigon, back in July he had VPW founder Rocky Huynh and English-language commentator Carey Wass on Talk is Jericho to tell their story about starting a pro wrestling promotion in Vietnam. Word is VPW is making a documentary as follow-up to the podcast episode.

Where will Jericho show up next?
