NWA announces unification bout for men’s and women’s TV titles

The National Wrestling Alliance has room for only one television champion. Big Strong Mims and Max The Impaler hold the NWA Television Championship for men and women respectively. At NWA Paranoia on January 13, Mims and Max will collide to unify the belts.

There must be a winner. Traditional rules for TV title bouts are a 6:05 time-limit, but that is being waived for this unification contest.

This feels like a showcase for Max to dominate the world. The Warrior of the Wasteland has been on a winning streak crushing the competition. It doesn’t make much sense for Mims to carry the women’s TV title, and that brings up a few questions about the future of that division. Will the women’s TV belt vanish in the scenario that Mims is victorious? Will the TV title division become intergender combat moving forward?

The biggest and most delicious question is if Max will cash in for a shot at EC3 and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. The TV titles utilize a Lucky Seven rule, which states that seven consecutive defenses grants the right for the TV champion to call their shot at the world champion. Max is encroaching on that lucky number already.

EC3 has business of his own at NWA Paranoia in the main event against Matt Cardona in The Ultimate Match of Death for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.

The NWA Paranoia lineup on January 13 in Fort Lauderdale, FL currently includes:

  • NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: EC3 (c) vs. Matt Cardona in The Ultimate Match of Death
  • NWA National Heavyweight Championship: Thrillbilly Silas Mason (c) vs. Paul Burchill
  • NWA Television Championship unification: Big Strong Mims (c) vs. Max The Impaler (c)
  • NWA United States Tag Team Championship: The Immortals (JR Kratos & Odinson) (c) vs. The Slimeballz (Tommy Rant & Sage Chantz)
  • Mike Knox & Trevor Murdoch vs. The Southern Six (Kerry Morton & Alex Taylor with Ricky Morton)
  • Thom Latimer vs. Bryan Idol
  • Blake Troop vs. Joe Alonzo
  • Talos & Daisy Kill vs. New Spectaculars 2.0 (Rush Freeman & Spencer Slade with Rolando Freeman)
  • Miserably Faithful (Sal The Pal & Gaagz The Gymp) vs. The Kidz
  • Magic Jake Dumas vs. Alex Misery
  • BLK Jeez return match

Are you picking Big Strong Mims or Max The Impaler to walk out with both NWA television titles?
