Looks like Sami Callihan is off the free agent market

Sami Callihan hit the free agent market on September 30 after six years with Impact. Rumors were abuzz about Callihan’s next destination. Now, we know the landing spot. The Death Machine returns to MLW.

Callihan was a full-time member of MLW from 2017 to 2019. He departed from the company on frosty terms. Callihan lost a Loser Leaves MLW match to Mance Warner. The plan was for a masked return later that summer, but ties were cut after Callihan racked up a hefty bill in damages to the venue. Ice thawed when Callihan made a surprise appearance at Battle Riot IV last year.

Callihan’s first match back is no easy task. The Death Machine will rumble with the Bread Machine. Callihan versus Satoshi Kojima was announced for Kings of Colosseum on January 6 in Philadelphia. The match will be part of the TV taping.

The press releases states:

Sami Callihan returns to MLW as a member of its 2024 roster on January 6th and he’s got a high-profile opponent standing across the ring for his highly anticipated return.

In Callihan’s first singles match in an MLW ring in nearly 5 years, the Ohio native will fight one of MLW’s most beloved wrestlers of all time: Satoshi Kojima.

For the first time ever, Callihan and Kojima will clash and they’ll do it as a part of the beIN SPORTS TV taping portion of the event.

Kojima, fresh off of a spectacular return to MLW after 20 years, looks to continue his momentum as the first-ever World Heavyweight Champion’s 2024 campaign kicks off against the Callihan Death Machine.

Callihan, a ferocious and unrelenting fighter who can fight virtually any style has his own agenda. One that he vows to share at the right time and place.

Now, two of MLW’s all-time best throw down with big implications for their future in Major League Wrestling. Will Callihan crush Kojima in his return or will he eat a lariat at the hands of Kojima?

The phrase, “member of its 2024 roster,” is particularly interesting, because Callihan was a potential candidate in theories as AEW’s masked devil. It looks like Callihan will be off the market for the time being from AEW, TNA, and WWE.

Kojima made his return to MLW after 20 years at One-Shot. The bread connoisseur defeated Tom Lawlor, and the fans showered the ring with bread in celebration.

Do you like the addition of Sami Callihan to the MLW roster for 2024? Who would you like to see Callihan wrestle?
