ROH Final Battle PPV card is looking stronger with added star power

Ring of Honor is holding the Final Battle PPV on Friday, December 15 in Garland, TX. The card was looking weak, however, star power was added to strengthen the lineup.

The match list for Final Battle currently includes:

  • ROH Women’s World Championship: Athena (c) vs. Billie Starkz
  • ROH World Television Championship: Survival of the Fittest with Dalton Castle, Komander, Kyle Fletcher, Lee Moriarty, Lee Johnson, and one more
  • Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, & Claudio Castagnoli vs. FTR & Mark Briscoe
  • Keith Lee vs. Shane Taylor
  • I Quit match: Ethan Page vs. Tony Nese

The card has been built primarily on stories from the ROH universe. Case in point is Athena versus Billie Starkz for the ROH Women’s Championship. That angle developed for months with Athena as mentor and Starkz as minion in training before it exploded into a feud. Athena has earned main event status in ROH, but her opponent is a little low on the ladder of recognition to automatically draw viewers like bees to honey.

That’s where the extra star power comes in from the Blackpool Combat Club, FTR, and Mark Briscoe. Bryan Danielson issued a challenge to honor the memory of Jay Briscoe. The American Dragon will be joined by the BCC A-team with Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli. That match is guaranteed to tear the house down and serve as a carrot to entice viewers into watching the show.

Expect more matches to be added in the coming days. If you don’t think the Final Battle card is worth full PPV price, well, there is good news for you. The show will air exclusively on HonorClub, which costs $9.99 per month.

Does the Final Battle lineup earn your interest enough to watch?
