The Nightly: September 26th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we take a look at the February 7th, 2000 episodes of Raw and Nitro.

On Raw, the Radicalz would earn WWF contracts by betraying Cactus Jack, leading to a huge 10 man tag team match with Triple H and X-Pac and the Radicalz (minus Eddie Guerrero who suffered a dislocated elbow in his first WWF match on SmackDown) against Cactus, Rock, and Too Cool, which then led to Kane coming back with Paul Bearer. We also saw Kurt Angle give the Angle Slam to a pregnant Mae Young (yep, that’s right).

And over on Nitro, it was a pretty bad show. There was Terry Funk who has an I Quit match with David Flair, and gives him a relatively mild beating before giving up because Ric Flair fails to show? And I think Flair is meant to be a face now again? We also get a painful Oklahoma segment (though that’s really just any segment involving Oklahoma) who is now in charge of the women’s division of WCW? We also got a memorable Steiner shoot promo on Flair, and just tears him apart. And finally, we get a main event of Sid/Hall which gets changed by Terry Taylor to a world title match, because they wanna stop the NWO? Which they think could happen by giving the NWO a 50/50 chance to take the title to NWO? If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the Red Rooster is on the take.

On to the Nightly.
