The Nightly: September 25th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the January 31st, 2000 episodes for Raw and Nitro.

Over on Raw, it was a big show, as a group of Radicalz made their WWF debut, with Chris Be kit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn all showed up in the front row as invited guests of Cactus Jack. This was treated as a big deal by both King and JR, and this night made them look like stars. It was also a big night for the Acolytes, as after the Mean Street Posse were assaulted by the Radicalz, they offered money to the Acolytes for protection, which gives Bradshaw the idea for a new business, the Acolyte Protection Agency, the aPa (with the P capitalized!). We also saw the Dudley Boyz put the Hardy Boys through four (!?) tables. Unfortunately, not everything on this show was great. Only bad part about this show was the snow pool match for the WWF Women’s title, with Hervina defeating the Kat, who turned out to be none other than Dr. Harvey Wippleman.

Over on Nitro, we saw the return of Ric Flair, who immediately went to fighting with Terry Funk. There was also Norman Smiley unknowingly wandering into the Demon’s Kiss Kasket and somehow comes out of the Kasket dressed as The Demon? Jeff Jarrett was also acting commissioner for the night, giving people an unintentional preview of TNA Wrestling. At least there was no King Of The Mountain match. This show also saw the debut of Mark Madden as a color commentator replacing Bobby Heenan, and he’s bad.

On to the Nightly.
