The Nightly: September 19th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the January 3rd, 2000 episode of WWF Raw Is War/War Zone.

We’ve reached the first Raw of the New Millennium, and Triple H is once again the World Wrestling Federation Champion, beating Big Show to win the title halfway through the show. We also get the revelation that after a controversial finish to a match on SmackDown, Chris Jericho and Chyna are declared the co-holders of the IC title, which is kind of lame, and there’s a reason that they have never done this co-champions thing again, because it doesn’t work. The Rock would compete in the main event, in a You’re Fired handicap match against The Roody Poo Crew DX, and Rock would win and keep his job with help from Mick Foley. Speaking of Foley, we had Triple H mocking Foley in a series of segments called Have A Bad Day, where it depicts Mideon as Mankind failing to get unemployment, or entertaining at a children’s hospital, or even at a book signing where nobody comes, all with Triple H playing different characters. The first and third segments are great, with the book signing one being the best out of all of them. However, the hospital one doesn’t age well due to some racial stereotyping in the segment.

On to the Nightly.
