The Nightly: August 5th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we take a look at the August 2nd, 1999 editions of both WWF Raw and WCW Nitro.

Over on Raw, we continued the build for Summerslam 1999, Undertaker gets a title shot and Triple H is pissed about it. We also get a new double champion as D’Lo Beown becomes D’Lo 2 Belts as he ended up winning the IC champion, and is now the Eurocontinental champion. And there was also a Bloodbath match with Gangrel and Edge, which Edge won with help from Christian.

And over on Nitro, Rick Steiner attacks Scott Hudson for some reason, and he and Sid face Goldberg and WCW President Sting in the main event, with Hogan and Bischoff on commentary. We also got a Rodman/Savage promo face off, which went about as well as you could imagine. So many silent bleeps in this segment.

Overall, I’d say Raw was the better show.

On to the Nightly.
