The Nightly: August 4th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we take a look at the July 26th, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro. This show was not very good. We’re still continuing the Nash/Hogan angle, as well as the Savage/Rodman angle, for some reason, but perhaps more inexplicably than those angles continuing, we got Jason Hervey from the Wonder Years on commentary for seemingly no reason, and well, he was not very good. We also had Jimmy Hart and the First Family come out for a brief promo during a Mikey Whipwreck and Lord Steven Regal match, which would be cool if Jimmy Hart was managing a better stable. We also got to see Leilani Kai as Patti Stonegrinder in a losing effort against Madusa, and it was easily the best thing on the show.

Overall, this was a bad episode as we continue on the road to…er… Road Wild. It ended up being the last Road Wild, and with a build like this, I can’t imagine why that was.

On to the Nightly.
