The Nightly: August 2nd, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight it’s a double header as we take a look at the July 19th, 1999 episodes of WCW Nitro and WWF Raw.

On Raw, it’s the go home show for Fully Loaded 1999. The main story of the episode is that Stone Cold drives a Blood Mobile into the arena and promises to make Vince bleed before the show is through, which is what ends up happening. We also get Kane turning against Undertaker and siding with X-Pac. Just a good solid go home show for Fully Loaded.

And over on Nitro… it was an interesting show… for all the wrong reasons. Nash is a heel now? I don’t k ow why. It makes about as much sense as Hogan being a face. The main event had a Wrestlemania VIII main event rematch in Sid/Hogan. If only there was a botched interference from Papa Shango. We also had Insane Clown Posse make their WCW debuts as the Dark Carnival was officially formed. And we got a WCW return in Shane Douglas. Because if anything is gonna win the Monday Night Wars, it’s Shane Douglas. WWF just doesn’t stand a chance now. And finally, we got Dennis Rodman making his return as he is now feuding with Randy Savage while Arliss from HBO’s show of the same name was doing commentary. I swear I didn’t make any of that last sentence up.

On to the Nightly.
