The Nightly: August 17th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we take a look at the September 6th, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro. This served as the go home Nitro for Fall Brawl 1999. They would continue the story of Sting being distrustful of Hogan due to Lex Luger, which would result in a confrontation between Luger and Sting when Sting opted to save Goldberg and Hogan against DDP, Rick Steiner, and Sid in the main event steel cage match. We also had Vincent become the newest member of the West Texas Rednecks, because it’s WCW in late 1999, so why the hell wouldn’t they do this. But perhaps most notably, this was the last Nitro that had Eric Bischoff in charge, as just a few days after this show, Etc Bischoff would be relieved of power by Turner. So the future of WCW is up in the air, and who ends up grabbing hold of it will be… fascinating.

On to the Nightly.
