The Nightly: August 12th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we’ll be taking a look at the August 23rd, 1999 episode of WCW Monday Nitro. It was live from Las Vegas, and it was meant to be a big deal. Why? Well, you wanted the best, you got the best! The hottest band in the world Kiss, performed live on Nitro as the main event, performing God Of Thunder from 1976’s Destroyer album, as well as debuting a new wrestler, The Demon. Unfortunately this is not on Peacock. But everything else is! Including a boring Sting/Hogan title match that ended in interference, as well as doing the whole Sid runs in and attacks someone as a finish. And there was also Lex Luger, returning to a lukewarm reaction from both the crowd and the announcers, warning Sting not to trust Hogan. Oh, just wait until Fall Brawl.

Overall, this was a terrible Nitro, where the best part of the show didn’t even make Peacock.

On to the Nightly.
