The Nightly: July 1st, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight we take a look at the April 6th, 1999 edition of WCW Monday Nitro. This was somewhat the beginning of a new era for Nitro, as WCW underwent a major makeover, including a new WCW logo, a new theme song and intro, as well as a new set. I’m mixed on this, as a lot of the changes, like the theme and logo absolutely suck, but on the other hand, I do kind of like the set, if only because I have fond memories of this Nitro set on WCW Mayhem. The actual quality was alright, as this was the go home Nitro for Spring Stampede 1999. We saw the return of Sting at the end of this show, with the main event of Goldberg/Flair/DDP/Hogan for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Overall, this was an okay Nitro to start off something of a new era.

On to the Nightly.
