The Nightly: May 25th, 2022

Hello Nightly!!!

Tonight, we finally take a look at the December 14th, 1998 edition of WCW Monday Nitro.

We’re only a couple of weeks away from Starrcade 1998, and the main event is a massive triple threat with Kevin Nash, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Goldberg… which ends in a no contest, since none of these guys have any business losing right before Starrcade. We also had Kanyon revealing to the world that Raven grew up a rich spoiled kid, with access to all kinds of money, cars, and even went to an Ivy League school, and we even see the debut of Raven’s mother, Mrs. Levy here. But perhaps the biggest thing from this show was Ric Flair doing a heart attack angle on live TV. I’m really not sure why they thought this was a good idea, this was honestly just kind of tasteless and has certainly aged poorly after Flair’s health scares the past few years. Not to mention that Fritz Von Erich and Blackjack Mulligan doing similar angles weren’t exactly received well about a decade earlier.

On to the Nightly.
